What is a Remediation Action Plan?

The purpose of the Remediation Action Plan is to provide a detailed scope of works required to return the property to pre-loss condition and removal surface concentrations of methylamphetamine/amphetamine and other contaminants to below the ILs levels, as recommended by the Australian Clandestine Drug Laboratory Remediation Guidelines.

Remediation Action Plans should be based on current best practice methods and use a consistent approach intended to facilitate the most cost-effective balance between hazardous waste removal and decontamination cleaning. Decontamination can be completed using a combination of methods, dependent on the level of contamination and the level of risks to human health or the environment.

To ensure all decontamination and remediation procedures on the property should be undertaken in a safe manner that does not pose a risk to human health and the environment, remediation should only be undertaken by competent remediators who are suitably qualified, trained, certified and experienced in clandestine laboratory remediation.
